| In reply to your inquiries
concerning Mr J. M. Fairbanks, I take great pleasure in stating that I
have been associated with him socially for several weeks and find him
possessed of all the requirements of character for the gentleman.
Superadded to his general information, he has had experience as an
Engineer, and from many conversations with him touching the
profession, I infer that he is amply qualified to assume positions in
this branch of the service. I am satisfied that a position of
responsibility could be assigned to none more worthy and I should be
much gratified that his claims be favorably entertained at the Eng'r
Bureau. |
