   I certify that the above account is correct and just; that the articles have been accounted for me on my property return for the quarter ending on the 31 day of December 1863.

   Received at Mt. Jackson the 31 day of Decr 1862 of Capt Thos R Sharp Asst Quartermaster C. S. Army, the sum of Four hundred & seventy six Dollars and --- Cents, in full of the above account.

   Impressed property paid for by Government Decm 1862. The date of purchase in the margin of acct appended being the date on which the Government ceased to pay hire on the property, is therefore assumed, as the correct date of purchase.

   We the undersigned being freeholders in Buckley County Virginia after being duly sworn do hereby appraise the following property belonging to David Stewart and impressed into the service of the Confederate States of America by order of Thos R Sharp, Capt & Act Chf Q. M. V. D, vz, January 18th 1862, to wit:
1 Blk Horse Bald face & Glass Eye $200.00
  with hind Harness 25.00
1 Sorrel Horse 100.00
  with Hind Harness 25.00
1 Blue Roan Mare 160.00
  with front Harness 16.00
1 Broad Trend Waggon & Bed 150.00

   I Charles Stuckey a Justice of the Peace for the County and State aforesaid do hereby certify that the above named appraisers were duly sworn and have appraised the Wagon & horses belonging to David Stewart and impressed in the service of the Confederate States at the amount as it stands stated above. Given under my hand this 21st day of January 1862
