Genl.,
I respectfully request that Mr Joseph Nalle be appointed a bonded agent in the Railroad bureau and assigned to duty with me. My business is very pressing and my laboring and it will require the utmost energy and vigilance in my department to accomplish successfully what the public interest and necessities imperatively demands during the winter. My own time and attention personally are required in so many various places and ways that I need other tried and experienced assistance. Mr Nalle has been acting with me for twelve months, is well acquainted with my business and I am well acquainted with his capacity and fitness. He is a most invaluable aid. He has been exempt by reason of a discharge by a medical board after examination. To have him bonded would render him much more valuable and useful to me as he could then perform many function he could not do as simple employed. I respectfully urge this matter and request speedy action.
With highest respect
