General,
I appointed Mr. N. Crager Transportation clerk, in place of T. J. Wooldridge removed to Thomasville. Mr Crager gave up the office some six weeks ago, when I prevailed upon Revd Mr Henry F. Hoyt, son of Revd Dl Hoyt of Athens to take the place: Mr Hoyt has twice enlisted as a private in the army and been for several months chaplain in it.
He has been for years and is now regular Pastor of the Presbyterian Church of this place and consequently is not subject to conscription or militia duty.
With your approval, I will Appoint him Transportation Agent at Albany, with salary of Two hundred Dollars per month, as per the circular from yr office.
I am General with highest Respect
