Colonel,
   I have the honor to request your valuable aid in obtaining an extension of details for soldiers now in the service of this Company, and a list of whose names &c, I have the honor to enclose herewith. I would state that, these men are all skilled in their several branches of mechanism &c, and their personal services, are, not only highly useful, but indispensable for the efficient operations of the road. Your early attention to the matter will be much appreciated by

The services of these men are indispensable to the S. C. RRd they are all first class Machinists & Engineers The Machinery of the road is very much out of repair and I would respectfully request that the details be sent forward at as early a date as possible.
