   Permit me to introduce to your special acquaintance Col B B Lewis of this City.
   He will make known his wants, and if Maj Wood & yourself can render him your cooperation in obtaining what he desires, will be greatly appreciated by me. I have known the Col long time & heartily believe, that the Government will be benefited in securing his services in the Transportation Dept. I feel assured you will take pleasure in aiding my friend in his purposes.

Respy referred to the Q. M. Genl. From what I know of the duties at Macon I think Maj M requires assistance & I have no doubt that Col. Lewis will make an efficient Transpn Agent at Macon.

Respectfully referred to the Adjt & Inspector Genl with a recommendation that the applicant Benjamin B Lewis be appointed a Bonded Transportation Agent to report to the Post Qr Master at Macon Georgia. Mr Lewis is beyond the conscript age.
