27th S. C. Vols whose detail was extended on the 31st Dec last for 60
days for Service on the Chlstn & Sav. RR
{Charleston & Savannah RR} desires to be transferred to this
Road. |
We have the permission of the
Genl Supt of that Road for the transfer, and will be obliged if you will
take the necessary steps to have it executed at Richmond. Chaplin is a
skillful mechanic and very necessary to the operation of our Road and I
shall be obliged if you will procure for us the transfer for his
Services. |
