Dear Sir, |
I read your advertisement in the
Examiner for Ash & Maple plank delivered on the Dan River. |
I have a considerable quantity of each
of these kinds of timber which I can deliver on the Raleigh & Gaston
R. Road at this depot which is 10 miles from Gaston on the Roanoke.
It can be loaded at this depot and sent through to Richmond without
unloading via Gaston & Petersburg. |
If you can give me a contract
sufficiently large remuneration to justify the purchase of a
portable saw mill I will go at it this fall & winter. Please say
what you can do. I shall have to haul the plank about 10 miles. |
Yours Respectfully |
B. A. Lavender |
