| Mr Jos. E. Farmer of Halifax Co. Va. on
the Dan River is a contractor with this depot for supplying our
Clarkesville shops with lumber for saddle trees & boxes. He is our
sole dependence, as I refused to detail others who were not so
convenient on the river. |
| I am officially informed this morning
by Capt Kene, in charge of our shops, that this mill has been
impressed by the {Richmond &} Danville
R. Rd Co. & respectfully request that an order for its release be
obtained from the War Department. Immediate action is necessary. |
