Enterprise, Miss.

Sir,
My attention has been called, by Major Clarke, Commandant at Enterprise, Mississippi, to the fact that suitable provision, and such as the law requires, has not been made at that point for the accommodation of sick and wounded soldiers passing over the Rail Roads. General Order, No. 95 of last year provides that arrangements shall be made with the various Rail Road Companies, to reserve seats in one or more cars as may be necessary for the use of the sick and wounded, and that the conductors of trains be required to provide for them a sufficient supply of fresh water. It is important that there shall be no neglect in a matter which concerns so nearly the comfort of disabled soldiers, and you will give it your immediate attention, and see that the arrangements heretofore had with the different roads be faithfully carried out.
A. R. Lawton, Q. M. Genl
