Sir,
I am informed that troops and supplies are accumulating at Lynchburg. Will you not give all the aid you can to the Confederate States in its military operation by using every appliance in your power to have ample transportation to bring off supplies from Lynchburg, and if it is deemed necessary that you obtain cars and motive power from the {Virginia} Central road for use on yours. Should it be necessary to assist in transporting baggage of troops from one Deport to the other in Lynchburg and have it protected I will thank you to aid in this likewise
A. C. Myers, A. Q. M. Genl.
