Capt. Thos. R. Sharp
Columbia, S. C.

Sir,
Major Morfit reports to me delays occurring in the transportation of freight through Columbia.
He suggests that your position and knowledge will enable you to facilitate greatly the speedy shipment of freight in transit, and that you are not unwilling to undertake the task. In that event I would ask that you take the immediate control of all freight, other than local, arriving at Columbia and do all in your power to secure it a speedy passage onward.
A. C. Myers, Q. M. Genl
