Colonel Wadley is here and states that the
Draft is for an engine delivered to the M. & C. {Memphis
& Charleston} Railroad, which was exchanged by you with the
Nashville & Chattanooga Road. Unless the engine be returned to
Colonel Wadley the Draft must remain a charge against the road. It may
be withdrawn if you obtain from the N&C Road an acknowledgement
that it will account for the engine to the Government. |
