Quartermaster General's Department
Richmond, April 21st, 1863

Cap. Thos. H. Tutwiler
A. Q. Master Lexington Va.

Sir,
In your letter of March 11th 1863, you ask for authority to dispose of some lumber to the Virginia Central Rail Road Company, which was purchased by the Government, with a view to constructing a bridge over the Cowpasture River.
As I am not aware of any present necessity for the erection of a bridge over the Cowpasture, and the lumber is greatly needed by the Central Road, you can make sale thereof on fair terms.
A. C. Myers, Q. M. Genl
