Sir,
I have a large amount of clothing destined to Corinth which is stopped at Lynchburg, as the enemy is reported to be in possession of Huntsville. I will be obliged if you will advise me of the best way by which the articles can be sent on.
Would it be safe to send them on the south to Dalton and so on to Mobile via Atlanta and Montgomery or should the stores be ordered to Petersburg to the South?
I hesitate to send them by Selma to Meridian, as there is some land transportation by wagons, on that route.
