Quartermaster General's Department
Richmond, Dec 12th, 1863

Cap. T. P. Bridger
AQM
Salisbury, N. C.

Sir,
Your letter of the 25th ultimo was referred to Major F. W. Sims, Superintendent of Rail Road Bureau, etc.
That officer reports that the President of the North Carolina Rail Road has assured him that "he would do all that Captain Bridger asks, if he were able, but a constant pressure compels him to neglect some points. It is a question which work is most important. The corn from Georgia seems so, and until that ceases, intermediate points must suffice."
This endorsement is communicated to you, for your information.
A. R. Lawton, Q. M. Genl.
