Sir,
   At the instance of the Surgeon General, I have to dire ct you to engage as a hospital the house at Bristol belonging to Mr Jamison, referred to in your letter of the 7th inst. You can rent it at the rate proposed; and contract for the erection of a kitchen & washroom, to make the improvements suitable and complete. You may be able to arrange for some deduction from the proposed rent, in consideration of these improvements.
