| I have asked that a remittance be made in your favor
for the sum of fifty five thousand dollars in Confederate Bonds to be
the purchase money of the Steam boats "Price" and "Charm." They are sold
to the Government by Capt. B. J. Ballen. |
| The necessary papers and instructions will be
transmitted to you by the Treasury, and upon their return to this office
the proper endorsements to the Bonds will be forwarded to you by express
or such mode as may direct. |
| I enclose a duplicate of the Bill of Sale of the
Steamboats, executed by Capt Ballen. |
