| In order that this Department may properly control the
transportation of the country & act understandingly in the matters of
remitting funds for the payment of the various commands, & shipping
supplies of clothing &c to them, it is necessary that I should be
promptly advised of any changes that may be made in the composition of
the different Armies and of all movements of troops, to be effected
wholly or in part by any of the lines of railway. I would respectfully
ask that I may be furnished hereafter with this information. |
