| A letter from you to Sect. of War
January 8th in relation to the condition of the Virginia Central
Railroad was referred from the Secretary to this office. I ordered
Maj. Sims in charge of the R. R. Bureau to make an examination into
the matter and now inclose to you a final report from that officer in
which I am happy to state that he holds an encouraging view of the
condition of affairs connected with that road. |
