| Relates the history of the seizure of the
rolling stock of the Ala & Fla RR Co of Fla and asks whether it will be
held for the difference between the sum paid it and the amt awarded as
the value of the said stock by enclosed arbitration |

| If the rates of compensation referred to
within was paid to the Ala & Fla RR of Fla under directions from this
Bureau or from Col Wadley or by order of any commanding Genl the matter
will be treated as adjusted & closed. If however the payment was made
imprudently the supposition that the rates were fair then they should be
reduced to con?? to the rates fixed by the arbitrators in accordance
with which the Govt was repaid & the excess charged to the Road referred
to. |
