States that there are no proper facilities for the transportation of patients from Staunton to Lynchburg and Richmond and recommends that an ambulance train be placed upon the road, to convey patients to Lynchburg until all the hospitals there and adjacent thereto are filled and then to carry the to Richmond

The old contract with Central RR has been continued and such trains will be run three times a week between Richmond & Staunton commencing Octo 22, 1862. Mason Morfit Capt & AQM
