Dear Sir, |
I have respectfully to ask for
a Renewal of the detail of Private D. B. Haselton, Compy E, 25 Regt S.
C. Vols, as a machinist for employment in the shops of this Company. His
original detail was granted by Special orders from your office, No. 47
and dated 26 February 1864, for sixty days. |
As his services are very
important to us, with every probability of them being required by us
during the war, allow me to ask, if his detail cannot be extended to a
longer period than that indicated above. |
Very Respectfully |

This detachment has again been extended to
31st May 1864. As there are 28 men now detached from this command & I
have only 38 for field duty, of this last number 13 are absent wounded &
5 sick absent. I would respectfully ask that none of my detachments be
further extended. |
