The burning of Rail Road Bridges in Tennessee admonishes of
the necessity of guarding ours. I have established guards over the
Atlantic {& North Carolina} Road and
ordered others on the W. & W. R. R. {Wilmington &
Weldon} bridges. I request that you will order the Bridges on the
Raleigh & Gaston Roads ad the No. C. Roads to be guarded by detachment
from the Companies now at Raleigh and High Point until I can find a
Company for that Service. |
