Received at Enterprise Mi this the 15th day of January 1864 of Major
Lewing Qr Mr The sum of nine Thousand two Hundred and Eighty four
dollars as a loan to F. M. White Prest of the Miss & Tenn
RR Co. By Order of Lt Genl Pemberton and as called for in a written
Contract Signed and Sealed the 6th February 1863, between the
Government of the Confederate States and the Said F. M. White for the
reconstruction of said road, and which I promise to refund to the
Treasury of the Confederate States two years after a Ratification of a
treaty of peace between the Confederate States and the United States.
