Mr B D Hasell
Chf Eng & Genl Supt.

Dear Sir,
I just had an interview with Genl Polk and I wish you to send out your passenger train this evening upon your usual time, and continue to run both your Passenger & freight train as usual, but see that no Passenger passes over your train except those who may have Passports either from the Adjutant Genl. or J. T. Morgan agent. I wish further that no mail or express matter passes over the train until further notice. The Telegraph Office in the depot must be discontinued immediately until further notice, Genl Polk wishes the train men at Humboldt, that was due this morning at 9:40 brought in forthwith as it has both officers and soldiers, give orders first to proceed to Memphis at once. These instructions I wish strictly observed.
Respectfully
J. P. Wood  Presdt
