Macon Ga. Feby 2nd 1863

Mr Hubbard Reynolds
Griswoldville, Ga

Sir,
   I am this day informed by Mr Adams, the Superintendent of the Central {(of Georgia)} R/R, that he expects some cars here on Wednesday next, the 4th Inst., and will probably be able to send them for some of my wood. He will give due notice of the fact at this office, and (as I am obliged to leave Macon tomorrow, to be absent some days) my foreman of works Mr John R. Hamlet, will appraise you in case the cars go down.
   My object in writing to you now is to inform you that Mr Adams tells me the R/R Co does not and cannot load the wood upon the cars, so that you may make other arrangements as to hands in time.
I am Sir, &c
{J. W. Mallet, Capt.
Supt. C. S. Laboratories}
