Captain, |
Out of 400 kegs of nails
{2 1/2 car loads} which have been shipped
to me for this establishment from Richmond, 300 kegs have this day
arrived, but the residue (100 kegs {2/3 of a car
load}) are still on the way. I have ascertained that 100 kegs
were shipped from Raleigh on the 21st Jany. upon car 74 M. G.
{Manassas Gap RR} and had not arrived at
Charlotte on the 13th of this month. |
I respectfully request that you will use
every exertion to have these nails again started and promptly forwarded
through the various Quartermasters upon the route to this place. |
I am, Captain, |
Very Respectfully |
