Sir,
   Your letter of the 20th inst. has just reached me. On the 14th inst. I wrote to you, notifying you that a train of cars would be sent down for wood on the 20th, thus giving you more than the four days notice which you request.
   On the 20th the train was duly sent down according to promise, but no one was to be found to deliver wood.
   This requires explanation. It will be clearly impossible to obtain transportation over the R. R. if the Superintendent feels uncertain on dispatching a train whether it will obtain any freight.
