Dr. Major,
Yours of the14th is this minute received, I shipped a car load to the Columbus works yesterday, and have one, today, ready which I shall send to Macon Arsenal -- the instructions contained in your favor of the 14th I will carry out fully and faithfully. In shipping to Macon, we shall be compelled to give up the {Atlanta &} West Point cars, as they do not pass over that road {the Macon & Western RR}. I shall try however to retain them as long as possible, an agent of Capt Humphreys arrives here last evening after coal, he can do nothing he is too green
Yours Respectfully
W. H. McDowell
