DrSir,
Your favor of the 1? inst enclosing vouchers &c and an account against this Company for iron delivered us by you for use on gun carriages.
I find on investigation that you delivered at three different periods as appears by both your account & ours 132 bars weight 6688 lbs of which we used 65 bars and {char?}ged you with same, weighing 3639 lbs leaving due you 67 bars weighing 2797 1/2 lbs.
Mr Bur?? informed me and he is cooberated by our Foreman of Smith Shop Thomson and by Mr Gleashen our clerk that the iron re?? used to wit 67 bars was taken from our ??? by Mr Atkinson and carried to Macon with your gun carriages &c were removed from our Shops. If they are correct in their Statements and I have no reason to doubt them then ??? got all the iron we received.
I enclose our Statement of the iron.
I shall be in Macon next week and will see & confer with you on this Subject.
Yours very Truly
