Georgia Rail Road
Augusta Sept 10/64

Lt Col F W Sims
Richmond

Sir,
We wrote you several letters requesting you to lay the matter before the proper authorities in regard to funds necessary to keep up repairs and transportation on our Road.
Since the date of those letters we have received $100,000 which falls far short of our expenses during that interval, and leaves us in a worse condition than we were at the time we wrote you.
I feel it necessary to fix a time for stopping or curtailing the expenses of the Road and propose on the 20th inst to issue notice to all contractors to stop furnishing materials.
It is not our desire to do this, but it appears to be absolutely necessary, as we are accumulating debt with persons who cannot afford to wait, and feel that we are doing them injustice to continue to induce them to furnish that for which we cannot pay.
Cannot Capt Foeggett be placed in funds promptly to enable him to pay us 1/2 or such proportion of our claim as will enable us to continue operations. Please let me hear from you soon so that I may know what is to be done.
Yours Respy
Geo Yonge
Supt
