Sir,
I am advised that probably your forces &c will be removed from Galveston. If such should be the case, I would call your attention to the fact of there being in that City about 1000 Tons of Railroad Iron Consigned to R & D G Mills by the Mess Moran Bros for a/c of the Eastern Texas Railroad Co and would suggest the propriety of having the same shipped to Liberty, our Company is anxious to Connect our Road with the Texas & N O Road & I am here for the purpose of seeking relief to enable us to Carry out that project, if the Iron remains in Galveston it will fall into the hands of the Enemy and our Road as well as the Confederate States will really suffer thereby as it is subject to Sequestration. Not a ???? been delivered to our Company.
