| Please take immediate steps to secure from
the Richmond & Danville R. R. all of the flat bar which has been
replaced by the T iron. The Govt has urgent need of it & it is
presumed that no opposition will be presented by the R. R. Co. If
there is please report promptly. |
| It would be well
also to arrange upon a definite basis of settlement with the company
to be submitted to Genl Gilmer & the Hon Sec'y of War for final
approval. |
