| The Secretaries of
War and Navy desire that no good railroad bars be rolled into gunboat
plates. If you have a quantity of iron from the Newbern Road {Atlantic
& North Carolina RR} in transitu for
Atlanta or Richmond, it is their wish that the good bars be exchanged
for old ones. S. L. Fremont, the Supt of the Wilmington {&
Weldon} road is anxious to make such
exchange. Will you please to confer with him. |
