| I have to acknowledge rect of yours of the
9th inst. The wants of the service prevent this Bureau from supplying
you with the (15) fifteen dozen shovels, which you desire. Your letter
has therefore been referred to Mr. A. Rahm with the following
endorsement from the Chief of the Bureau. "Eng. Bureau July 15th
1863. If Mr. Rahm will finish his entire contract within a reasonable
period after the time fixed the Bureau has no objection to his making
Fifteen dozen shovels for the within named RRd Co on such terms as
shall be agreed upon between himself & said Co." Signed J. F.
Gilmer, Col Engrs & Chf of Bu. You will ascertain from Mr. Rahm
what will be his action in the case. |
