Supt R. & D. R. R.  {Superintendent, Richmond & Danville RR}

Dear Sir,
   Mr. Pilson informs me that he has over 200 logs (about 2 loads) which he is very anxious to have hauled from a point about 6 1/2 miles above town. This timber is for an obstruction at Warnick Bar in James River which Gen. Lee deems of importance. If you will inform Mr. Pilson (who will call at the Deport from time to time to know) when you can furnish transportation, he will have hands on the spot to load.
Very truly yours,
A. L. Rives
Acting Chf. Eng. Bu.
