| Major, |
| One hundred and fourteen hands have gone
to Drewry's and one hundred hands to be sent to Chaffins have been
stopped a day or two to bury the dead {probably
from the Seven Days' Battles} by order of the Secy of War.
Hundreds of hands have been called out & will come on transportation
being furnished by the {Richmond &}
Danville RR. |
| I shall make this morning an earnest
appeal to the authorities of that Road & doubt not it will produce the
desired effect. |
| Very resp &c |
