| There are fifty mechanics formerly
employed by the Navy Dept. now under the orders of the Engr Bureau,
now at Jetersville, 12 miles this side of Burkesville, employed as I
understand in getting out ties for your road. |
| Please inform me whether they have been
ordered to remain at that point by you & whether you consider they
will work to greater advantage at some other point on the road. I make
the enquiry because Mr. Dade informs me that you did not know their
locality. |
| They have four mule teams & several ox
teams all of which with the men are subject to the orders of Lt. Dade
for repairs of Danville Road. |
