| The Navy Dept has turned over to the
Engineer Bureau for duty in repairing the {Richmond
&} Danville R. R. forty or fifty carpenters & mechanics
& forty more are expected here today or tomorrow. |
| They are under the
charge of Navy agents and it is expected that they will be supplied
with rations. In the absence of Col. Rives actg chf of the Bur. I
resp'y that they may be authorized to draw rations from the nearest
commissary & the requisitions of the agent in charge. |
