Sims stating that the connection of the RF&P RR {Richmond,
Fredericksburg & Potomac RR} with R&P RR {Richmond
& Petersburg RR} is useless on account of heavy grade &
recommends that a connection be made from R&P RR to Va. Central
via Cary St & Shockoe Creek {about 1300
yards}. referred by Sec'y of War 11 Apl 64 |

returned to Hon Secy of War. A prompt examination & verbal report
was made on this connection. The plan is very feasible but will
require a very considerable amt of work, The work was considered too
heavy at the time the question was ??ing to undertake it immediately,
as a great deal of timber was required over the Shockoe Creek. So
after the necessity for the work no longer existed. |
