| The Hon. Sec'y of War has expressed to me
the opinion that the bridges over the South Anna may be reconstructed
now with propriety. I write therefore to inform you of this opinion
and to state that I shall be pleased to assist you in every available
way. As you are doubtless aware the timber for the bridge is being
hauled to your depot today & it is believed the whole am't. can
& will be delivered by night. |
