| I have the honor to inform you that the
following telegram has been recd from Maj Gen ??? {Jones?} |
| "The connection between Lawton &
Live Oak is under rapid construction, the grading about finished, the
trestle works far advanced and several miles of iron laid down. This
connection gives but little work for the Gov't. will be finished by
1st of October next. Ought not to be abandoned now. It will meet all
the wants of the Gov't. The Monticello connection would take much work
and time. |
