| I have the honor to acknowledge the
receipt of your communication of today & the enclosed letters from the
Supt. of the Va. Central R. Rd. in reference to the injuries inflicted
upon that road by the enemy. |
| An ample supply of timber has been
procured from the Navy Dept. to repair all the damages, and arrangements
to secure all the labor that may be needed are nearly completed. The
repairs will be pressed vigorously. |
