Endorsement on telegram from A. H. Hopkins
dated Raleigh March 30th to Col. Garnett, stating the Engine is too
weak to carry iron over NC RR {North Carolina
RR} & suggesting that it be hauled from Gaston and high
freight paid. the RV RR {Roanoke Valley RR} flats
are on Petersburg road. |
Engr Bureau. 2 April 1864. Respy returned
to Col. C. F. M. Garnett Com. &c. It is hoped that the
conversation held with Lt Col Sims in Col Garnett's presence will lead
to all necessary action. |
