   The amount of rain that fell during the summer season within the state of Alabama will probably render it necessary to have covers constructed over the evaporating salt basins; at least, over those used in the final part of the process. These covers must be movable & to this end it will be probably necessary to make them in sections and as light in construction as possible.
   Will you please to give this subject special consideration in your study of the works committed to your charge at the Salines in Alabama.
