Maj Clark's telegram, by your direction, received. Genl S. Jones has given orders to his engineers and engineer companies to undertake promptly the reconstruction of the trestle bridge ten miles west of Bristol {on the East Tennessee & Virginia RR}, but states that in so doing, only nine miles additional railroad will be made available, as the bridge over the Holston and a short distanced thereafter, the bridge over the Watauga, both heavy works are both destroyed. Under these circumstances, is it important that the trestle work ten miles from Bristol, be promptly repaired?
