approval of Maj. Genl. J. F. Gilmer, Chief of this Bureau, that Mr.
Minor Meriwether of Tennessee be commissioned as Major in the Corps of
Engineers P. A. C. S. and ordered to report to this Bureau for
assignment to Duty. |
| Mr. Meriwether was before the war a civil
engineer of experience & high reputation & has during the war
rendered continuous & valuable engineering services. |
