| Request having made by the Hon. R. Jemison Jr {President of the RR} that you might remain for some time longer in the service of the N.
E. & S. W. Ala. RR Co. his letter was referred to Maj. Gen. J. F.
Gilmer, Chief of Bureau, for consideration. I am now instructed by him
to inform you "that your prolonged absence from the Company to
which you have been appointed is inadmissible, and that you must enter
at an early day upon the duties of your appointment, or the position
will be offered to another." |
