Fredericksburg & Potomac RR} dated Richmond January 5th
'63. Requesting that some 15 or 20 slaves from Caroline Co. be
detailed to work on his road; otherwise will be compelled to
discontinue transportation for Government. |

understanding exists between the Bureau and Mr. Daniel in regard to
the subject matter of this letter. Mr. Daniel has been assisted to the
extent that he requires. This paper is therefore respectfully returned
to the Hon. Sec. of War. |
